Andy Fraser, who co-wrote the rock anthem "All Right Now" when he was a teenager for the British rock band Free, passed away on Monday March 16, 2015 in his home in California. His family has announced that his funeral and memorial services will be privately held in California, where he had been living for over 30 years. An organized tribute celebration for his loyal fans is being considered for later this year in his homeland of England.

“We got word that Joe Bonomassa already dedicated four of his shows this week at Hammersmith Apollo in London. Andy would have been very pleased, as he mentioned many times how much he admired Joe. Andy even likened Bonomassa to Fraser's former bandmate Paul Kossoff. “Nobody has ever captured Koss like Bonomassa does, he makes it look so easy.” It just brought me to tears yesterday when I got the news,” stated Cyrene Jagger, Manager of Fraser's record label and multi-media firm Mctrax International.
His eldest daughter Hannah wrote this statement - “My sister Jasmine, my mother Ri, and I have been reunited from across the world as we cry, laugh and share stories of what a remarkable and unique man Andy has been. “As we receive letters and condolences from around the world we are deeply moved by the love and gratitude that people feel for Andy, and what he gave to each person’s life. The world knew the larger than life personality that was Andy Fraser, and we are being given deeper gems of insight into what a funny, charismatic, and a vastly generous soul he was. He never talked about what he did for others... he just did it, understated and cool. People are letting us know how much he treasured us three, his little family... even more than he could say to us. So many times we are told how proud he was of his daughters. May we always live up to the trust he had in us, and carry his message forward. He communicated his passion, humanity, love, and caring for the world through his music. His second daughter Jasmine wrote this - “I have such a deep sorrow for the loss of my father. My love and respect for him grew stronger as we became closer over the last few years, and in many ways I was still finding out what a truly beautiful soul he is, how much he loved and cared for people around him, and that his heart was so big he felt a responsibility to care for all people. I think he often had a hard time expressing himself on a person-to-person level, and poured so much of his feeling and emotion into his songs. He could be very private and was very driven to create his music and make a difference in the world, so the times we shared are so precious to me, especially when his cheeky humor and playful nature came out. He had so much optimism, despite all the hardships in his life, and was always ready to give of himself, jump on board and make things happen. I hope I can live up to the high bar that he has set. Andy Fraser was an English singer, songwriter and bass guitarist whose career lasted over forty years and includes the notable period as one of the founding members, of the rock band Free. He leaves behind his daughters, Hannah and Jasmine Fraser and their mother Ri, his sisters Anne Fraser and Gail Fraser, brothers Gavin Fraser and Alex Fraser, and many friends and business collaborators in the entertainment industry.
Most recently Fraser was very active as CEO of his record label/multi-media firm Mctrax International, while continuing to produce his own music, in 2005 he released “Naked and Finally Free” as a coming out album while he was coming to terms of not only of being gay but discovering he had contracted the AIDS virus. In 2008 he released “On Assignment”, under his label McTrax and in 2010 signed teenage british guitarist TOBI to the label. “I know he cared very deeply for Tobi, as he understood what it was like to be so talented at a young age,” said Jagger. Fraser was currently working on a multitude of projects including the Summer release of “Standing At Your Window”, which he co-wrote with Frankie Miller, planning a UK/European Tour that included the Sweden Rock Festival, scheduling the release of his autobiography, and the release of “Tears of a Mermaid” a film he was co-producing with his daughters Hannah and Jasmine Fraser.

You can honor Andy and his legacy by following his example, which was to choose to live your life in service, to the best of your ability, in the care and love of one another.”, states Jagger. His cover song “Every Breath You Take” is set for posthumous release this year.
