DK Photonics positions its 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM, 980/1550nm WDM, Athermal AWG DWDM Module and 16~48CH Thermal AWG DWDM Module as power-efficient solutions

1×2 Triplexer WDM Coupler is designed for the “triple-play” fiber to the home (FTTH) systems. It can be used to mux/demux three wavelengths at 1310nm, 1490nm and 1550nm that carry the voice, data and video services. This device has 1 to 2 port configuration. All three wavelengths are fed into the device through the common input port. One wavelength is reflected from one output port and the other two wavelengths pass through the device at the other output port. This device is bi-directional.Company foresees explosive global growth for cost-effective, low power consumption components in the communications industry.

Shenzhen, China – Manufacturing state-of-the-art fiber optic components, like 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM,980/1550nm WDM, 16~48CH Athermal AWG DWDM Module and 16~48CH Thermal AWG DWDM Module, is just one way that DK Photonics is positioning itself to play a significant role in the upcoming global telecommunications revolution.

A senior executive at the company’s Shenzhen, China-based manufacturing plant recently addressed an industry association and shared the company’s vision of upcoming trends in Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems.

With clients spread across the world, the global leader in the designing and manufacture of high quality optical passive components, used primarily in fiber laser, fiber sensor and fiber optic telecommunication applications, believes that its power-efficient components, like the 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM, 980/1550nm Fused WDM, 16~48CH Athermal AWG DWDM Module and the 16~48CH Thermal AWG DWDM Module, are what will truly drive the next phase of expansion in the communications industry.

“While it is true that DWDM has its roots in long-haul communication applications in North America. The fact of the matter is that their application is spreading rapidly across the globe, including in Metro-networks and a range of short-range communication networks,” the executive noted.

The event also showcased several low-power consumption solutions, like the 16~48CH Athermal AWG DWDM Module manufactured at the company’s sprawling 13,900 square foot facility in China. These Athermal (temperature-insensitive) Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) modules are uniquely designed to decrease over reliance on DWDM-based systems, while also eliminating electrical power consumption by such systems.

Pointing to a spike in demand for its Wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) solutions, like the 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM and 980/1550nm WDM, the executive noted that, when it came to point-to-point transmission links, WDM was now fast outpacing other traditional technologies – especially when it came to using tunable optical fiber.

According to speakers at the forum, the future of the telecommunications industry rests in highly innovative components that provide cost-effectiveness, low insertion losses, simple control mechanisms, large dynamic range, narrow bandwidth, fast tuning speed, high sidelobe suppression, small footprint and lower power consumption.

With the DK Photonics range of components, including the 1310/1490/1550nm Filter WDM, 980/1550nm Fused WDM, 16~48CH Athermal AWG DWDM Module and the 16~48CH Thermal AWG DWDM Module, the industry is poised to get all of these benefits from a single manufacturer.
