Concerns about the banking sector weighed the markets down to a lower close with the Dow slipping 4 points to 16,264. Nasdaq fell 22 points to 4151.

On the downside


Spherix (Nasdaq: SPEX) sued Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) for patent infringement.

Body Central (Nasdaq: BODY) extended its losses.

On Track Innovations (Nasdaq: OTIV) swung to a profit for the fourth quarter but the stock price fell.

In the broad market, advancing issues edged out decliners by a slim margin of nearly 5 to 4 on the NYSE while decliners outpaced advancers by nearly 5 to 3 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 slipped 3 points to 1849. Bitcoin dropped $66.81 or 11.44%% to $517.19.
