Budget Self Storage Supports “Music in Our Schools”

Budget Self Storage announces that the company will be collecting new and gently used musical instruments for donation to local schools.

Budget Self Storage is proud to announce the company’s support of the performing arts in local Bay Area schools. For the month of March, Budget Self Storage is celebrating music in local public schools by collecting new or gently used instruments for students.

The company understands that schools have been hit hard by today’s economy and must budget time and money wisely. As a result, many schools have had to defund crucial programs such as music in order to make ends meet. Budget Self Storage would like to help reverse this change, since the welfare of local schools is so important to the company.

Children who are engaged in learning their passion are much less likely to get into trouble and more likely to succeed in the future. Unfortunately, in these economic times, many parents do not have extra expendable income to purchase instruments for their children to play. Budget recognizes that providing children with musical instruments will open the doors to untapped potential and a future passion for music.

This project is also exciting for donors who are able to give an old instrument new life by providing it as a blessing to a child who will receive it with wide eyes and a thirst for knowledge. Donors may even be providing a future famous musician with his or her very first instrument.

Robin Emanuel, Marketing Coordinator for Budget Self Storage, states: “When I found out that there was a national movement to bring attention to music programs in our local schools my wheels started turning on how we could support this effort.  I remembered as a kid that it was expensive to buy your instrument to play in the school band.   I called a few of the local schools in our Sarasota marketing area to see if they would be interested.   The Booker Middle School was the first to respond and they were ecstatic! Budget Self Storage is proud to give back to our community by supporting local school music programs.”

Budget’s eight convenient locations make it easy to drop off donations.  Locations are open Seven Days a Week Monday-Saturday, 8am-6pm. Store hours vary on Sundays so Budget advises that visitors check budgetselfstorageflorida.com for the hours of the location they want to visit.
