Virgin America Inc. (Nasdaq: VA) will be acquired by Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK) for a premium of approximately $2.6 billion in cash. Shares of Virgin America leaped $16.21 to $55.12 while Alaska Air Group stock tumbled $3.44 to $78.57.
