Why Americans won’t pay more for Chinese imports soon, despite Trump’s harder line

Each year Americans buy more than $460 billion in often cheaply priced goods made in China such as toys, clothes, cell phones, laptops, TVs and solar panels. That’s not going to change soon despite efforts by President Trump to reduce the nation’s economic reliance on China.
