Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (NYSE: BKD) will acquire Emeritus Corp. (NYSE: ESC) in an all stock deal valued at approximately $2.8 billion including the assumption of debt. Shares of Emeritus leaped $7.84 to $29.30 while Brookdale stock rose 68 cents to $30.77.
