Since the debut of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) small-overlap front crash test in 2012, the organization's Top Safety Pick+ designation has proven to be elusive for many new vehicles. That is not the case, however, for the redesigned 2015 Subaru Legacy and Outback, which recently laid down a blueprint of sorts for how to ace the new test, achieving the IIHS' highest rating of "good," and as a result, Top Safety Pick+ awards as well.
