MetroCast reaches agreement to launch SEC Network

Network to debut on MetroCast-Mississippi lineups on August 14
PRLog - Aug. 1, 2014 - OXFORD, Miss. -- MetroCast Communications, the video, Internet and phone provider serving more than 70 communities in Mississippi, has announced that it will provide the SEC Network to its subscribers in Mississippi when the network launches on August 14.

The SEC Network will launch on MetroCast Expanded Basic channel 26 (726 HD) and channel 63 (Forest/Morton area).

The new 24/7 channel—developed by ESPN and the Southeastern Conference—will air 45 SEC football games, 100 men's basketball games, 60 women's basketball games, 75 baseball games, and 50 softball games.  Live women’s volleyball and soccer will also air on the network (see full football schedule here and the full soccer and volleyball schedule here).

The network’s college football coverage starts with a doubleheader on Thursday, August 28 featuring Texas A&M at South Carolina and Temple at Vanderbilt.

“We are pleased to have reached agreement with ESPN to carry SEC Network and it adds great value to our lineup,” said Regional Manager Rick Ferrall. “Our customers are big Southeast Conference fans and will welcome the expansive coverage the network will provide.”
