Stocks rallied to record highs today because...that's what they've been doing pretty much since Donald Trump was elected President of the United States . The S&P 500 rose 1.3% to 2,241.35 today, a new record high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 297.84 points, or 1.6%, to 19,549.62. The Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.1% to 5,393.76, just 0.1% below its record high of 5,398.92 hit on November 25.
