Clark Nexsen Receives 2017 Firm of the Year Award from AIA North Carolina

RALEIGH, N.C. - Oct. 18, 2017 - PRLog -- Clark Nexsen has been named 2017 Firm of the Year by the North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Firm Award was presented during the AIA North Carolina Annual Convention in Wilmington.

With offices in Asheville, Charlotte, and Raleigh, North Carolina, Clark Nexsen has provided architectural and engineering services to a broad range of clients in North Carolina and the nation for more than 20 years. The firm has more than 120 professionals in North Carolina who are committed to creating a better future through their work. The firm also received two project design awards from AIA North Carolina at the ceremony. The Edens Quad Renovation at Duke University was recognized with an Honor Award and the Carolina Day Lower School in Asheville received a Merit Award. In total, projects completed by Clark Nexsen's offices in North Carolina have received more than 25 AIA design awards on the local, state, regional and national level in the last five years.

The Firm Award is given each year to one North Carolina firm that has consistently produced quality architecture with a verifiable level of client satisfaction for at least 10 years, and has an established presence in the state. The award also recognized leadership in advancing the cause of architecture and its role in improving the quality of the built environment. This award is the highest recognition the Chapter can give to a firm.

The nomination for the award comes from Cheryl Walker, FAIA, Principal of Bergmann Associates who commented, "The Clark Nexsen we admire today is testament to inspired leadership. They have harnessed talent and good will, and built a cohesive vision for their future." She continued, "Their commitment to client service, design excellence and community outreach makes Clark Nexsen an exemplary model."

The firm is also committed to interfacing with educational institutions to strengthen the connection between education and practice. Several of the firm's leaders have served on the faculty of Duke University and North Carolina State University for more than two decades.
