MagnaCare Selected for Prestigious “Modern Healthcare’s 2010 Best Places to Work in Healthcare”

MagnaCare, (www.magnacare.com) a health plan services company with national reach, today announces its selection to the esteemed “Modern Healthcare’s 2010 Best Places to Work in Healthcare,” www.modernHealthcare.com/bestplaces. This award recognizes MagnaCare as an outstanding employer in the healthcare industry on a national level and coincides with the company’s 20th anniversary celebration.

“We are honored to receive this award which distinguishes our company in a very special way, acknowledging the high level of employee satisfaction with our workplace environment and the incredible strides we have achieved in employee development and retention,” says Joseph Berardo Jr., president and CEO of MagnaCare. “This award also comes at a significant time in our corporate history as we celebrate twenty years of service to individuals and businesses throughout the country.”

Three-hundred and twenty-eight (328) healthcare companies participated in this year’s healthcare workplace listing, and MagnaCare was one of two NY-based companies chosen for this award. Modern Healthcare, the industry’s most trusted, credible and relied-upon news source, will host an awards gala on October 18, 2010, Dallas, TX where Berardo will accept the award on behalf of MagnaCare.

Modern Healthcare partnered with Best Companies Group, a PA-based firm that administers “best places to work” programs nationwide. The program collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all companies (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees. MagnaCare completed a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees were asked in-depth questions that resulted in an analysis in eight core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.

Julie Bank, vice president, Human Resources at MagnaCare since 2004, adds, “This award belongs to our company and the leadership of Joe Berardo who fosters a strategic approach to recruiting, hiring and retaining top career-oriented, talented people.”
