U.S. Senate passes two-month transportation spending patch

WASHINGTON, May 23 (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate early on Saturday passed a two-month spending extension for federal transportation projects that puts off a decision on long-term funding for road, bridge and rail transit projects until the height of the summer construction season.
