New Customized Verizon Education Tech Tool Available

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., June 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Summertime is a time for sun, fun and play, but it doesn't have to be at the expense of learning. With 70 percent of students using their wireless devices to do homework or research, and tens of thousands of mobile apps ready to help them do that, staying engaged over the summer months is now a reality.  But finding the right one for each student can be a challenge.

The Verizon Educational Tools app is making that task much easier. Now available for Verizon Wireless customers on Android and iOS tablets and smartphones, it offers a new way to explore targeted learning. Verizon Educational Tools helps maximize a child's learning time by transforming their tablet or smartphone into a mobile educational tool.

How does it work? The best educational apps are hand-picked by a panel of industry experts, including teachers, instructors and education specialists. They are recommended to customers based on the customer's own grade and skill level, subject matter interests and, when applicable, Common Core State Standards. Verizon Wireless customers can access these pre-evaluated educational apps, and based on these filters, receive recommendations — complete with teacher reviews and ratings, customized to their learning needs.

In addition to educational apps, Verizon customers will receive bonus educational content and offers from select industry leaders, including:

Verizon Educational Tools is available for $2 per month, per line, and can be downloaded today for tablets or smartphones in the Android or iOS app stores. It was developed in partnership with Appolicious. Data usage applies for app download and use.
