OAKLAND, Calif., April 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brewer release the following: On April 20, 2015, in the San Francisco Superior Court, former SFPD Attorney Kelly O'Haire will begin a three week trial on her claims for whistleblower retaliation against Greg Suhr and the City and County of San Francisco.    

As an internal affairs attorney for the SFPD, Kelly O'Haire was involved in a discipline case against Greg Suhr.  O'Haire reported to her supervisors that she believed Suhr had violated the Penal Code when he failed to immediately report and make an arrest in a domestic violence incident.   During the discipline case that O'Haire handled, Suhr's attorneys threatened her that "she didn't know how this city worked" and if Suhr became Chief it would be "an employment problem for her."  Others in the Police Officer's Association informed O'Haire that Suhr would "take her out" when he became Chief. 

Two and one half weeks after Suhr was appointed Chief, he fired Kelly O'Haire. Mayor Edwin Lee was informed that the termination was retaliatory and he did nothing. O'Haire sued the City and County for whistleblower retaliation and sued Suhr individually for intentional infliction of emotional distress. 

The case is scheduled for trial on April 20, 2015 in the San Francisco County Superior Court.
