"It was with great sadness that Prince Philip and I learned of the sudden passing of the Speaker of the Senate, the Honourable Pierre Claude Nolin. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Nolin family as well as all Canadian parliamentarians who benefited from his ever wise counsel."
