Four Prominent Attorneys Join the Detroit Office of McDonald Hopkins Law Firm

DETROIT, Oct. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- McDonald Hopkins announces the addition of four prominent attorneys to the firm's Detroit office. James J. Boutrous II, James J. Giszczak and Miriam L. Rosen were elected to McDonald Hopkins as Members. Dominic A. Paluzzi joins as an Associate. The four attorneys, who specialize in the areas of non-compete and trade secret law, labor and employment counseling and litigation, data security counseling and data security breach management, and commercial litigation, were previously with the law firm Butzel Long.

Boutrous, Giszczak, Rosen and Paluzzi have joined the firm's Labor and Employment Counseling and Litigation Practice, which specializes in representing management in all aspects of labor and employment law at both the state and federal level.

James J. Boutrous II, Member

Boutrous has extensive non-compete and trade secret experience, which includes counseling, auditing, and drafting agreements. Boutrous's national practice involves both prosecuting and defending employers in non-competition and trade secret litigation, with significant injunction hearing experience. He is a member of the Non-Compete/Trade Secrets Subcommittee of the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section. Boutrous is also a skilled employment litigator, with trial experience in employment discrimination matters, defending employers in labor arbitrations, as well as labor and employment counseling.

Boutrous received his J.D. in 1995 from Wayne State University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from the University of Notre Dame.

James J. Giszczak, Member

Giszczak's extensive non-compete and trade secret expertise includes advising, auditing and litigation. He has extensive nationwide experience prosecuting and defending employers and employees in non-compete, non-disclosure and trade secret litigation, with considerable injunction hearing experience. Giszczak's practice also focuses on business and commercial litigation with trial, litigation and consultation expertise in sales representative and business disputes. He regularly advises clients regarding data security measures and responding to security breaches involving sensitive personal information. Giszczak has tried cases in state and federal courts, and has arbitrated cases before the American Arbitration Association. In addition, he has represented clients in both state and federal appellate courts.

Giszczak received a J.D. in 1992 from the University of Notre Dame Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from James Madison College at Michigan State University.

Miriam L. Rosen, Member

Rosen has wide-ranging experience in all aspects of labor and employment law. She focuses her practice on counseling employers on day-to-day human resource matters to ensure compliance with complex issues arising from state and federal employment laws, such as the FMLA, ADA, and civil rights statutes. Rosen has extensive experience in the area of wage/hour disputes, assisting employers in identifying, defending and resolving disputes stemming from the Fair Labor Standards Act and state law requirements. She represents employers in collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitrations, contract administration, union avoidance strategies and training, as well as union recognition, decertification and deauthorization campaigns. Rosen also uses her broad employment law experience to train managers and staff on workplace compliance issues.

Rosen received a J.D. in 1987 from Northwestern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984 from Michigan State University.

Dominic A. Paluzzi, Associate

Paluzzi concentrates his practice in the area of non-compete and trade secret law, including litigation, counseling, and drafting of agreements. Paluzzi's practice also includes data security breach management, as well as commercial litigation and new construction litigation. Paluzzi has also collaborated with the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (OESA) to develop a Terms and Conditions Comparative Analysis for automotive suppliers. Paluzzi graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a J.D./MBA in 2007 and a B.S.A. degree in 2004.
