The new technology will be integrated into the Fujitsu IP-9600 next-generation encoder, a new, scalable and highly flexible digital media processor and networking platform scheduled to launch in mid 2011.

The IP-9600 platform will join an industry-leading family of encoding technologies that includes: the IP-9500 high-performance, high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) H.264 (AVC) 4:2:2/4:2:0 contribution encoder; the cost-efficient IP-9400 HD/SD 4:2:0 encoder specifically designed for electronic news gathering (ENG) and satellite news gathering (SNG) operations; and the IP-900 HD/SD encoder/decoder for efficient digital content transmission in AVC 4:2:0 format with robust FEC/ARQ technology, suitable for less-than-perfect, restricted-bandwidth IP networks.
