SAINT PAUL, Minn., July 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- September 2010 will be the 21st annual Recovery Month observance by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, and the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT). Recovery Month serves to educate the public on how alcohol and drug addiction is a national health issue, a treatable illness, and that recovery is possible.

In Minnesota, a TWINS game Recovery Month event has been held for the past 10 years. This Recovery Month event is one of the largest fan groups at a TWINS game each year. This year's event on Thursday, September 30, 2010, promises to be an even bigger and more visible event because of the new Target Field!
Our 2010 theme is "Rally Caps for Recovery." 1,465 seats are reserved in our prominent "Rally" sections (329-334). As a recognizable "face and voice" of recovery, Don Shelby (WCCO) will do a 9-minute pre-game presentation where he will speak to all about the reality of recovery for those who suffer from addiction to alcohol or other drugs. Jim Ramstad will throw out a first pitch, and a scoreboard announcement will recognize our group and invite all fans to recognize our cause by putting on a "Rally Cap for Recovery" during the 8th inning.
