Bank of America Supports Women Entrepreneurs as Presenting Sponsor of National Women's Business Conference Hosted by NAWBO

WASHINGTON, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is pleased to announce that Bank of America is once again supporting one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic sectors of the U.S. economy: women entrepreneurs. For the third consecutive year, the leading financial institution will serve as presenting sponsor of the National Women's Business Conference "Inspire the Change" hosted by NAWBO. For 2015, the event will be held September 27-29, 2015 (with Leadership Boot Camp on the 27th and the conference on the 28th and 29th) in San Antonio, Texas.

The 2015 conference comes during NAWBO's 40th anniversary and will feature a fun and festive 40-Year Anniversary Bash celebrating the organization's decades of impact and the women leaders who made it all possible. Bank of America is serving as NAWBO's 40th anniversary sponsor, hosting receptions celebrating this milestone anniversary throughout 2015 at Leadership Boot Camp events and at the conference.

NAWBO is also proud to announce that, in addition to an exhibit hall packed with valuable resources and breakout sessions featuring the timeliest business topics for women business owners, two inspirational best-selling authors have signed on as keynote speakers at this year's National Women's Business Conference:

  • Leigh Anne Tuohy: Dubbed a "warrior princess" by author Michael Lewis in the book-turned-movie The Blind Side, Leigh Anne is a best-selling author of a book she co-wrote with her husband: In a Heartbeat: Sharing the Power of Cheerful Giving. In March 2015, the Tuohys will release a second book, Turn Around: Reach Out, Give Back, and Get Moving. The two also have their own charity, The Making It Happen Foundation, which promotes awareness, provides hope and improves standards of living for all the children fighting to survive in the invisible cracks in society.
  • Bonnie St. John: Despite having her right leg amputated at age 5, Bonnie became the first African-American ever to win Olympic or Paralympic medals in ski racing. Bonnie is a best-selling author of six books, a highly sought-after keynote speaker, a television and radio personality, a business owner and a Fortune 500 leadership consultant. Bonnie co-authored her most recent book How Great Women Lead with her teenage daughter.

"NAWBO is thrilled to continue our partnership with Bank of America, as access to capital and other financial issues are a leading concern for our organization and the thousands of women entrepreneurs we serve," said Darla Beggs, Chair of the NAWBO National Board of Directors. "Their support will go a long way toward making this year's conference in San Antonio one of our very best to date."

"Bank of America is proud to serve as the official sponsor for NAWBO's 40th anniversary and their National Women's Business Conference this year," said Jill Calabrese Bain, Small Business National Sales Executive for Bank of America. "Their dedication over the past 40 years has made it possible for thousands of women to start and grow their own small businesses. Helping women build sustainable businesses in the communities we serve is a passion that NAWBO and Bank of America continue to share."

NAWBO was founded in 1975 by a group of women entrepreneurs who joined together to remove obstacles and create opportunities for other women entrepreneurs across the country.
