IMAX® Sets Overseas Debut Record With Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron Grossing $10.6 Million In IMAX® Theatres Internationally

LOS ANGELES, April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- IMAX Corporation (NYSE: IMAX) today announced that Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron blasted into international IMAX® theatres with a record-setting $10.6 million on 175 screens, making it the Company's highest-ever non-China overseas debut. On a per-screen basis, the film also landed among the largest overseas launches for IMAX, averaging a stellar $61,000 per screen.

Individual market highlights include the Vue's Copenhagen IMAX location – the first of several IMAX DMR® sites scheduled to open in Scandinavia – which grossed $170,000 during its opening weekend. Other noteworthy territories include Brazil, Hong Kong, South Korea and the U.K.
