  • A recently held Press Conference - On August 18, 2015, Bank of America Corporation presented views from attendees collated at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BofA Merrill) Payments and Commercial Card Conference, themed "Pay Everywhere: Extending Your Reach". The conference was attended by over 300 representatives from 175 companies and government agencies based in Asia Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America.
  • Identified priorities for 2015 - The Company believes that despite the growing emergence of mobile and electronic payment applications, many treasury departments across the globe are still struggling with the continued existence and enormous cost of paper payments. During the two-day event held at Phoenix, the clients continued to identify that to improve their working capital in 2015 they have to give top priority to completely convert their payments to electronic means. Their second priority was to expand their card program or to adopt mobile/digital business-to-consumer payments.
  • Understanding audience's point of view - In order to understand the views of attendees about their respective opportunities and challenges, a number of questions were posed to audience members during the event. It was observed that approximately half of the audience had a formal payments strategy supported by senior management. Many clients also said that a mobile strategy was not their top priority in 2015. Around 60% of them did acknowledge that adopting a mobile payments application was something they were likely to introduce in the future.
  • Management's Commentary - The Head of Global Transaction Services at BofA Merrill, Ather Williams said, "We were extremely pleased with the outcome of this year's Payments and Card Conference." He added, "We'd like to thank our clients and speakers for their active participation and the helpful input they provided.
