Abstracts should focus on technologies capable of deployment within five years. All areas will cover the following common topics:

  • Strategy & threat characterization, CONOPs, risk analysis
  • Modeling, simulation, experimentation, exercise & training
  • Test beds, standards, performance & evaluations

Accepted papers will be published by IEEE and presented during HST '16 at the Westin Waltham Boston in Waltham, Mass., USA, 10-12 May 2016.

A past featured paper topic has been video analytics. The goal is to help law enforcement officials cull through huge amounts of data quicker to prevent a terrorist attack. If an attack has already occurred, video analytics assists in identifying suspects.

HST '16 will be the 15th in an annual series of events focusing on emerging homeland security technologies. It will bring together leading academic, industry, business, government and Homeland Security Centers of Excellence innovators working on technologies designed to deter and prevent homeland attacks, protect critical infrastructures and people, mitigate damage and expedite recovery.

HST '16 is produced by IEEE with technical support from the Department of Homeland Security Science & Technology Directorate, IEEE Boston Section (www.ieeeboston.org) and IEEE-USA. MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Raytheon, Battelle and MITRE are providing organizational support.

International partners are encouraged to participate.
