Canadian Pacific named a 2017 military-friendly employer

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Canadian Pacific (CP) has been named a 2017 Military Friendly Employer by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs magazine. The award recognizes the many veterans, National Guard members, and reservists that CP employs.

"Hiring veterans and service-members is a way we can honor those who serve their country. It's also a way to attract loyal, hard-working employees who often thrive in the 24/7 environment of the railroad," said Keith Creel, CP's President and Chief Operating Officer and U.S. Army veteran. "We appreciate Victory Media's recognition, as well as the hard work that our veteran employees perform every day to serve our customers."

Companies and organizations earning the Military Friendly Employer designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from Victory Media's proprietary survey. More than 200 companies participated in the Military Friendly Employers portion of the 2017 Military Friendly Companies survey. Victory Media then evaluated the surveys, as well as new-hire retention, employee turnover, and promotion opportunities for veterans in awarding the designation.

CP will be showcased along with other 2017 Military Friendly Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs magazine, the January 2017 issue of Military Spouse Magazine, and on MilitaryFriendly.com.
