The 250,000-square-foot flagship laboratory will become the largest in the Quest network of more than 20 major laboratory facilities across the nation and will employ more than 1,100 people.  The laboratory builds on the success of Quest's "Lab of the Future" in Marlborough, Massachusetts, incorporating innovative uses of building design and automated technology to provide a broad range of advanced diagnostic information services.  The new laboratory is expected to be operational in early 2021.

"Our new flagship laboratory will enable us to empower better health through a comprehensive testing menu, faster turnaround, and additional capacity to serve more patients and clients," said Steve Rusckowski, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer.  "Rooted in innovation, this new lab will also provide our employees with an inspiring workplace.  This is a major commitment to our presence in New Jersey where we are headquartered, and it is good news for the healthcare providers and patients we serve."

The laboratory will be built on an approximately 12-acre site on the Clifton side of the ON3 campus, the former 100+ acre Hoffmann-La Roche property which spans Clifton and the Township of Nutley.

The ON3 campus, and its vision to become a mixed-use new-urbanist hub, is attracting forward thinking, innovative and market leading companies.  ON3 is home to the Seton Hall-Hackensack Meridian Graduate School of Medicine, and Seton Hall's College of Nursing and School of Health and Medical Sciences.

"We are thrilled to welcome Quest Diagnostics to the ON3 campus," said Eugene Diaz, principal partner, Prism Capital Partners.  "There is a sense of excitement and possibility at ON3, which is fast becoming the most highly sought-after business address in New Jersey."

Quest's corporate headquarters is located in Secaucus, New Jersey.  The company currently employs more than 2,700 people throughout the state and about 45,000 people companywide.
