Orlowski of Albany to Become Head of Organ Donation Association

MCLEAN, Va., July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Jeff Orlowski, of New York, was recently elected President-Elect of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO). Currently, Mr. Orlowski serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Donation and Transplant in Albany. The Center for Donation and Transplant in New York is an independent AOPO-accredited Organ Procurement Organization that serves Northeastern New York and Western Vermont.

Mr. Orlowski brings more than twenty-two years of experience in the field of organ and tissue donation to his new role as President-Elect. Throughout his tenure, he has been placed in progressively higher level roles as a manager and leader. He has served as CEO of the Center for Donation and Transplant since 2003. His understanding of the organ donation process is enhanced by his specific experience as Managing Director of Life Gift (1995-2003), Manager of Tissue Recovery and Processing (Mile High Transplant Bank 1993-1995), Organ Recovery Coordinator (Colorado Organ Recovery Systems 1988-1993) and Transplant Coordinator (Midwest Organ Bank 1987-1988).

Mr. Orlowski received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Kansas in 1986. He earned his Master of Science in Management at Regis University in 1992. Currently, he lives in Clifton Park, New York, with his wife and two children. Mr. Orlowski will serve as a Member of AOPO's Executive Committee for a term of three years.
