PRLog - Sep. 17, 2014 - BLUFFTON, S.C. -- What: A “tailpipe-free” tailgate party, sponsored by the Bluffton area’s premier Nissan dealer, Hilton Head Nissan, will take place at the Technical College of the Lowcountry to celebrate National Drive Electric Week.
Why: National Drive Electric Week, Sept. 15-21, is a nationwide celebration organized by Plug In America, the Sierra Club, and the Electric Auto Association. The event aims to educate the public about the clean air benefits, cost savings, and convenience of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles.
“We are excited that our Nissan dealership is on the forefront of innovative automotive technology,” said Warner Peacock, president and CEO of the New River Auto Mall. “It is our pleasure to help raise awareness about the many benefits of electric driving.”
All of the proceeds over and above the actual cost of the event will benefit the Bluffton Historical Preservation Society and Friends of Bluffton Dog Parks.
The Bluffton High School Environmental Engineering Club will be selling food and refreshments, and the proceeds from their sales will go directly to support the many important activities and programs they provide for youth throughout the community.
Who Should Attend: Drivers of electric vehicles, those who support clean energy, and anyone interested in the opportunity to learn more about different kinds of electric vehicles are encouraged to attend. Attendees will be able to test drive a number of electric vehicles including the Nissan Leaf, the Chevrolet Volt, the Ford C-Max Energi, and the Tesla Model S.
When: Saturday, Sep. 20, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
