Bringing a New and Exciting Documentary about Urban ExplorationKiev, Ukraine – Jan 27, 2015 – Tops & Roots production has released the first episode of Insiders Project. The first episode shows the crews dangerous explorations of “House with a Star”, which is Stalin’s skyscraper in Kiev, Ukraine. In the video, audiences see a chronicle account of the film crew exploring this complex maze to finally reach the highest point where the historical five-pointed star is located. They hope to film more episodes showcasing other amazing historical sites that have been abandoned and forgotten. They created a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund production and development of the remaining first season.
Insiders Project is an entertaining educational documentary that combines adventure, action, and history. This project will bring something unique to the film industry. Viewers will get a chance to go on an exploration with author and host, Dmitry Gromov, as he explores urban areas that many rarely get to see because they are extremely dangerous to get to. The film crew’s love for adventure has brought them together to record their daring expeditions for audiences around the world to enjoy. Each episode will document different historical urban locations like old tunnels from Stalin’s time, abandoned bomb shelters, frozen factories, secret metro lines, and other mysterious spots that are rich in history and culture.
Insider Project aims to share the locations historical background and its influence in modern society. Its purpose is to educate the world about these urban locations before they are torn down and become part of the ever-changing metropolis. The team wants to record and save the memory of these places. Tops & Roots Production crew consists of passionate professionals who want to apply their previous experience in documentaries, feature films, music and action videos to bring an incredible urban exploration documentary for audiences to enjoy. They hope to create a fun and exciting way to educate viewers on a unique part of history.
They plan to develop a total of twelve episodes for the first season. Each episode will be approximately twenty-five minutes long and will be released every four to five weeks on their YouTube Channel. Season one will document the treacherous locations inherited by the Soviet Union. All episodes will also have an English voice over. They hope the first season will be visually appealing and intriguing for audiences so they feel like they are exploring these urban areas themselves.
The campaign goal is $330,000 CAD, which needs to be met by March 23, 2015. All capital received from Kickstarter will go towards buying quality equipment for video and audio production, exploring gear to keep the crew safe on their journey, and an English voice over. A portion of the funds will also go to paying legal fees, marketing efforts, and Kickstarter rewards.
