Williams Companies Inc. (NYSE: WMB) and Williams Partners LP (NYSE: WPZ) selected Alan Armstrong to replace chairman and chief executive officer Steve Malcolm who will retire on December 31, 2010. Shares of Williams Companies climbed $1.82 to $21.43 while Williams Partners stock rose 28 cents to $43.73.
