The all-new Honda HR-V will make its North American debut November 19th.
PRLog - Oct. 24, 2014 - MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Honda is adding another vehicle to its already diverse lineup of automobiles. On November 19th at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, the brand new Honda HR-V, which is based on the Honda Fit, will be making its North American debut. Expected to hit dealerships across the country later this winter, including Bosak Honda in Michigan City, the HR-V will be slotted below the Honda CR-V in the automaker’s lineup and serve as Honda’s entry point into the light truck lineup.

This new subcompact crossover Honda model will be built using the same platform as the Fit and will deliver the same level of interior versatility. The HR-V will feature Honda’s Magic Seat, which allows drivers the ability to configure their seating arrangements in ways that deliver the most space for carrying cargo through folding the second row of seating directly into the floor. The vehicle will weigh between 2600 and 2800 lbs.

The exterior design of the HR-V gives it a sporty, dynamic appearance, which includes hidden rear door handles and diamond shaped headlights.

While nothing has been officially confirmed by Honda, it is expected that the Fit's 1.5L four-cylinder engine that delivers 130 hp will be used to also power the new Honda HR-V. A turbocharged engine model is expected to soon follow this standard edition.

The size and features of the newest addition to the Honda lineup are expected to make the HR-V quite the competitor in its segment, taking on vehicles like the Mazda CX-5, Subaru XV Crosstrek, and Nissan Juke.

Depending on how sales go for the new Honda HR-V, there have been discussions that both a hybrid version and an all-wheel drive model could become available.

Little information is currently known about the HR-V, including the price, but Honda has said this will be announced closer to the vehicle’s release date this winter. For questions about the Honda HR-V, feel free to stop by Bosak Honda in Michigan City or contact the dealership at (800) 728-9825.
