Carly Fleischmann was one of the five most recognized faces of autism appearing on The Ellen Show. Suddenly her Tweets and Facebook posts stopped. For a year the autism community has been abound with rumours. All sorts of stories appeared on social media asking what happened to Carly Fleischmann

Carly is non-verbal and has been diagnosed with autism, oral-motor apraxia and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Her OCD caused such problems by the end of 2013 she underwent electro-convulsive therapy (ECT). The result was the loss of her language skills. All communication became garbled and incoherent.

Arthur Fleischmann, Carly’s father, spoke exclusively with Autism Daily Newscast to explain what happened to Carly, her progress and why the family chose to remain silent.
