Let’s face it. We’re all busy and don’t always have the time to go food shopping. At the same time, we don’t want to eat the same thing day after day.

The answer is a revolutionary new mobile application: Cook Jinni.
“By scanning the barcodes of food you have in the kitchen, this app analyzes your options and makes suggestions about what to prepare,” explains Cicely Ford of West Palm Beach, Fla., head of the team developing the Cook Jinni app. “In many cases, it can also create a video session that shows how how to prepare those meals.”
So, the app basically generates recipes – for individuals, families or groups. Cook Jinni provides access to vegan, low-calorie, low-fat and low-salt recipes as well as the entire recipe database. All types of different cuisines (American, French, Mexican, etc.) are available.
“Cook Jinni caters to chefs, cooking enthusiasts and homemakers who are seeking convenient cooking alternatives for meal preparation,” Ford says. “It’s an easy way for stay-at-home chefs to prepare a home-cooked meal without shopping for ingredients. The app can offer various replacement options that can be substituted for recipe items that may be unavailable.”
Ford notes that similar existing apps, like Big Oven and Paprika, have grossed more than $6 million over the past two years. “There is a market for this type of service,” she says. “Cook Jinni will have better features and a lower cost per download.”
The app will cost just $2.97 for the initial download and $1 per month.
Ford and her team need some financial assistance to bring this item to market. The project is 94 percent completed and scheduled for a mid-July launch but an additional $8,100 is required for a global marketing program.

Donations of any amount are welcome. For a contribution of $200, backers can help create a recipe and give it a unique name. A $600 pledge enables you to post a cookbook on the app and provide feedback for Cook Jinni, which will be featured and viewed by millions of subscribers. “There are 200 million mobile app users in the US and 8 billion global cell phone users are projected by 2019,” Ford says. “All of these people have to eat. So our target market is almost unlimited.”
