Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (NYSE: TMO) will pay a premium of approximately $1.3 billion in cash to acquire Affymetrix Inc. (Nasdaq: AFFX). Thermo Fisher Scientific stock eased a penny to $134.15 while shares of Affymetrix leaped $4.52 to $13.73.
