NYSSA Launches Research Challenge to Start Academic Year

The New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA) rolled out its annual CFA Institute Research Challenge to local colleges and business schools today beginning with a lunch for participating students, faculty and industry members.

NYSSA, the official New York partner of CFA Institute, originally conceived the Research Challenge contest to teach ethical equity analysis to area university students. Now in its twelfth year, the Research Challenge is globally sponsored by CFA Institute and coordinated regionally by societies like NYSSA.

Research Challenge teams are selected from schools around world and coached in a tournament to perform investment analysis and present research on real publicly traded companies. NYSSA will offer resources and support to the students that entered the Research Challenge today.

The Research Challenge is scheduled to extend through April 2015 and attract more than 3,300 students and 775 universities in 60 countries. CFA Institute will choose the winning report in a Global Finale held in Atlanta. In the previous Research Challenge, Fordham University was named New York winner.
