Don’t Go Nuts ™ Announces Launch of Crowdfunding Campaign to expand its highly acclaimed line of nut-free, non-GMO and organic snack foods

Salida, CO - Don’t Go Nuts, a division of Pinto Barn, announced its crowdfunding ‘Be A Nut-Free Hero’ campaign on Barnraiser, the social and funding community dedicated to food & farming innovators. With more than eight million Americans affected with nut allergies, Don’t Go Nuts is changing the lives of these people with its delicious, healthy, nut-free snack foods. Jane Pinto created a unique and groundbreaking line of snacks alongside her daughter Lily, who developed a life-threatening nut allergy.

Some of the greatest ideas come out of the inspiration of desperation, and that’s just how Don’t Go Nuts was founded. After much research, the Pinto family built the first 100% tree nut-free manufacturing facility in the U.S.  It is a one-of-a-kind pristine, nut-free facility using what they call the ‘Field to Fingers Nut-Free Process’ that ensures every ingredient and step of the journey is safe.

Anyone who wants to ‘Be A Nut-Free Hero’ can go to this site from October 21 to December 17th and pledge support for a new line of snack packs of Don’t Go Nuts’ non-GMO, nut-free, gluten-free soy butters in five delicious flavors: Chocolate, Cinnamon Sugar, Slightly Sweet, Lightly Sea Salted and Pure Unsalted. In addition to helping to make more safe food options available for kids (and adults) with severe food allergies, campaign supporters can choose from an array of exclusive rewards—from a delicious assortment of bars to a special “Making Nut-Free Cool At School” event, allowing one school the chance to help create a new product flavor profile.

“We’re not just making safe foods for families like ours,” says Jane Pinto, “We’re also making them for all of the friends and classmates, for all of the play dates and sleepovers, for all of the teachers and coaches. There are so many people who are connected to a child with nut allergies, who deeply care about that child, and who want nothing more than to know they’re giving that child a safe food to enjoy.”

Tree nut and peanut allergies currently affect more than eight million Americans. People with nut allergies need convenient, healthy, safe foods.
