BroadSoft (Nasdaq: BSFT) narrowed first quarter losses more than expected as revenue climbed.
Array BioPharma (Nasdaq: ARRY) reversed year ago losses to post a stronger than expected profit for the third quarter.
On the downside
Shares of National Bank of Greece (NYSE: NBG) fell as Greece struggled to avert bankruptcy.
Citigroup downgraded Sibanye Gold (NYSE: SBGL) from a Neutral rating to a Sell rating.
MobileIron (Nasdaq: MOBL) partnered with Tangoe (Nasdaq: TNGO) to integrate and deliver globally available mobility managed services but the stock price fell.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of nearly 7 to 5 on both the NYSE and on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 added 6 points to 2114. Bitcoin eased $1 to $237.
