CFDA Approves Pfizer Oral Arthritis Treatment for China Use

Pfizer has received permission from the CFDA to market an oral treatment for rheumatoid arthritis in China. Xeljanz ® (tofacitinib citrate), a Janus kinase inhibitor, is indicated for adult patients with moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis whose disease does not respond to methotrexate (MTX). Pfizer says Xeljanz, which was granted marketing approval in the US in 2012, is the first oral JAK inhibitor approved for RA patients in China. More details....
