Portfolio Recovery Associates (Nasdaq: PRAA) reported higher fourth quarter earnings of 92 cents per share compared with 71 cents per share i in the year ago period as revenue rose and announced that it would pay approximately $880 million to buy Aktiv Kapital. The stock price leaped $8.92 to close at $59.40.
