On the upside
BSQUARE (Nasdaq: BSQR) reported higher first quarter earnings and revenue.
Shares of Oncothyreon (Nasdaq: ONTY) continued rising.
Avis Budget Group (Nasdaq: CAR) stock advanced again on Wednesday's announcement that the company would be the exclusive car rental partner for Pebble Beach Resorts.
On the downside
El Pollo Loco (Nasdaq: LOCO) reported higher first quarter earnings and revenue but investors were disappointed with the company's full year earnings guidance.
Bloomberg reported that Keurig Green Mountain (Nasdaq: GMCR) would roll out its new Keurig Kold cold brewing system more slowly than anticipated.
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services cut the corporate credit rating on SandRidge Energy (NYSE: SD) from B to CCC+.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 10 to 9 on both the NYSE and on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 eased a fraction to 2120. Bitcoin added $1 to $238.
