The Wall Street Journal reported that Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ANTM) offered
to acquire Cigna Corp. (NYSE: CI). Shares of Anthem soared $3.75 to
close at $164.46 while Cigna stock leaped $16.12 to close at $153.43.
