The Dow Chemical Co. (NYSE: DOW) and E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. (NYSE: DD) will merge in an all stock transaction then the combined entity will split into three separate companies. Shares of Dow Chemical dropped $1.62 to $53.29 while du Pont stock plunged $4.14 to $70.41.
