GoPro recalls Karma drone

The markets advanced during the midday with the Dow jumping 309 points to 18,641 on optimism that infrastructure spending could boost the economy. Nasdaq surged 59 points to 5,253.


GoPro recalled 2,500 Karma drones that were sold after October 23 after a number of drones lost power while in flight. Replacement drones are currently unavailable. Instead, customers will be given a full refund for the $800 device.


The legal recreational use of marijuana was approved in at least three states on Tuesday. California, Massachusetts and Nevada legalized marijuana for adults over 21 years of age. A marijuana industry group said that the marijuana market could expand from this year's estimate of $7.9 billion to $21 billion by 2020.


The proposed $85.4 billion merger between AT&T and Time Warner may now be in jeopardy with Donald Trump in the White House. The president elect has vowed to block the transaction saying that too much power would be concentrated in too few hands. AT&T remained optimistic that the deal would be approved.


In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of 5 to 4 on the NYSE and by 5 to 2 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 leaped 29 points to 2,168. Bitcoin gained $13 to $716.
