Texas Hydromulching, a company based in Houston, TX, has announced that they are a new brand that is focused on the provision of hydroseeding and hydromulching services throughout the state of Texas. Aside from their office in Houston, they also have offices in San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. With these offices, they point out that they can efficiently and quickly handle such needs of local contractors in Texas for commercial hydroseeding or homeowners for residential hydroseeding.
Robert Ferguson from Texas Hydromulching says, "Hydroseeding is the process of combining the correct recipe of grass seed, fertilizer, mulch, tackifier and dye with the appropriate amount of water and spraying the application on the ground surface in a uniform manner to create a mat or blanket effect." A Texas Hydromulching video has also been posted by the company to allow people to understand the services that they provide.
Hydroseeding has several applications. These include residential homes, golf courses, churches, industrial properties, sports fields, parks, commercial properties, retention ponds, subdivision entryways, and roadsides and highways.
Robert Ferguson explains, "The primary reason for choosing hydroseeding instead of laying sod is cost. Hydroseeding is more cost-effective and efficient when compared to sodding, broadcast seeding, or other techniques of creating turf and controlling erosion."
Robert Ferguson points out that there are four types of hydroseeding. These are wood fiber mulch, bonded fiber matrix (BFM) mulch, blended mulch, and paper mulch.
A wood fiber mulch makes use of 100 percent wood fiber mulch. This is a high quality mulch that is applicable for many projects, especially those that require a large degree of erosion control. Robert Ferguson points out, however, that not all 100 percent wood fiber mulches are the same. Texas Hydromulching only uses Enviro-Plus 100 percent wood fiber mulches. This is because in addition to being made of high quality virgin wood fiber, the Enviro-Plus mix has a special tackifier at 10 percent of weight, which permits the binder to adhere to soil particles with the result that the seed and fertilizer are held in place.
Meanwhile, the bonded fiber matrix is made up of a continuous layer of elongated fiber strands that are held together by a water-resistant bonding agent. Thus, it prevents direct rain drop impact on the soil as it permits no gaps between it and the soil and it has a large water-holding capacity. The problem with the bonded fiber matrix is that it is quite expensive and is therefore only used for those areas that are heavily sloped and where high quality erosion control is really needed.
The blended mulch is made up of paper and wood. Robert Fergusion points out that most companies make use of a 60/40 blend, or 60 percent wood and 40 percent paper. However, Texas Hydromulching makes use of the Enviro-Plus 70/30 hydraulic mulch. This higher ratio of wood to paper greatly enhances the erosion control capability of the mulch as well providing sufficient protection against foot traffic, animals, and other elements.
The paper mulch is not actually recommended but it may be used for those situations when the budget does not permit the use of wood fiber mulch or BFM mulch. In some situations, paper mulch can be used, such as when hydroseeding over an already existing bed.
The primary use for hydromulching is drainage and erosion control. The inadequacy of drainage and erosion control has been commonly observed in Southern Texas. Robert Ferguson points out that the people at Texas Hydromulching have the knowledge and ability to solve any problems regarding drainage and erosion in compliance with all Texas state requirements and specifications.
Robert Ferguson says, "We take pride in the workmanship of our team and we have the finest equipment available to support your hydroseeding needs. Our blended recipe has been proven time and time again to provide you with the full lush green lawn you desire. We own only FINN Hydro-Seeders. FINN Hydro-Seeders uses independent systems for mechanical agitation and liquid recirculation. Compared with the other manufactures' units, FINN's all-hydraulic design provides more power for mixing and delivering the thickest possible slurries."
Texas Hydromulching is a locally operated and owned company that delivers hydroseeding services throughout the state of Texas. They are a single source specialist serving both commercial and residential customers, including municipalities with regards to the different aspects of landscaping, irrigation, and ground cover. Their various services include: hydroseeding, hydromulching, erosion control, drainage, landscaping, and maintenance services. These can be applied for roadside work, golf course construction, retention ponds, commercial and industrial jobs, residential home sites, and sports fields.
