Project Flashback: Chicago based McDonagh Demolition, Inc. preserves historic structure in a demolition project. The Landmark Goldblatt’s Building Water Tower, circa 1920’s was carefully removed and kept intact by McDonagh during the 
demolition of the building. With expert coordination of the McDonagh staff, two cranes simultaneously removed the water tower from the building with extraordinary care and expertise. There were many challenges McDonagh faced in the removal of the tower, one being the roof structure could not support the weight of the crew during the removal, this is a testament to McDonagh’s talent and expertise in complex demolition projects. The City of Chicago stored the water tower for preservation and historic display in the years to come.
