In filling the number two post, Executive Director/CEO Daniel Bowman says he was looking for someone with knowledge of the DFW real estate market and the key players.
“David previously worked for site selection firms and gained a broad perspective on corporate investment and economic development strategies employed in other markets around the country,” said Bowman. “He worked with Plano Economic Development and knows what it takes to recruit projects to Collin County.”
According to Bowman, Ellis is charged with assisting in oversight of the business retention and marketing programs for the AEDC, as well as implementing a business attraction program to recruit new corporate investment, additional office space and jobs to Allen.
Bowman also recently promoted Tracey Cline to Business Retention and Expansion Coordinator, and hired Geneva Aragon as Director of Marketing and Research.
Cline has served as the AEDC’s senior administrative assistant for nearly eight years and is now responsible for retaining companies in Allen and helping them expand.
Aragon directs all marketing initiatives, coordinates project proposals and communicates the economic advantages of Allen to our target audience, said Bowman. She previously held marketing positions in chemical formulation and manufacturing as well as the American Heart Association.
Bowman credits the AEDC Board of Directors with embracing the need to enhance internal capabilities in order to continue being responsive to the ever-growing corporate interest in Allen.
