UPDATE 1-Medtronic revenue tops estimates on higher U.S. sales

Sept 3 (Reuters) - Medtronic Plc reported a better-than-expected 70 percent rise in quarterly revenue, helped by higher sales of its heart and vascular devices in the United States and the Covidien acquisition.
