Transition Networks Unveils Three New Products for Ethernet Security Networks at ISC West

Transition Networks, Inc., a leading provider of innovative, high-value data network integration solutions, today announced it will showcase three new products at the ISC West trade show, happening April 6-8, 2016 at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.

At its booth (#32107), the company will showcase its IP over 2-Wire Ethernet Extender, its IP/PoE+ over COAX Ethernet Extender, and 16-Port Managed PoE+ Switch, all designed to reduce costs associated with implementing or upgrading security networks.

The IP over 2-Wire Ethernet Extender (IPOTW1052-111-LRT) extends the reach of an Ethernet network in situations where there is no cat5/6 or fiber cabling available. The extender provides the ability to leverage existing 2-Wire cable infrastructure in order to extend the Ethernet network to remote locations. Deployed in pairs, the local and remote devices accept a Fast Ethernet copper (100Base-TX) connection and communicate over non-UTP 24AWG wire lengths of up to 200 meters. This is helpful for applications such as surveillance cameras mounted on light poles or traffic signal poles, where installing new cabling can be time consuming and expensive.

Transition Networks’ PoE+ COAX Ethernet Extender provides the ability to quickly and easily upgrade analog surveillance systems to PoE powered IP cameras without the need to replace the existing wiring infrastructure. The extenders allow signaling from IP cameras to be transmitted over existing coaxial cabling from legacy analog systems, while also providing power to the cameras over that same cable. The extenders are used in pairs, with a local (EOCPSE4020-110) and remote (EOCPD4020-110) device, at opposite ends of the COAX cable. The local device supports copper or fiber input and transmits power and data over the coaxial cable to the remote converter. The remote converter then provides power to the end device, such as an IP camera, making this product ideal for remote locations where power is not easily accessible.

Another new product to be launched at the ISC West trade show will be the company’s SM16TAT2DPA Managed PoE+ Switch, which provides a flexible solution for delivering power and Ethernet services to a wide range of equipment, including wireless access points, IP/PoE cameras and VoIP phones. The high performance Layer 2 managed switch provides (16) 10/100/1000Base-T copper ports supporting IEEE 802.3at PoE+. The switch also has two additional 100/1000 dual-speed SFP/RJ-45 combo ports offering flexibility for network uplink ports over fiber or copper infrastructure.

“These new products offer flexible ways to connect cameras and other security and surveillance equipment to the network at high speeds, while making use of the wiring infrastructure that is already in place,” said Tony LeFebvre, Director of Product Management for Transition Networks. “The emphasis on Power-over-Ethernet adds even more flexibility for these applications.”

Transition Networks will have representatives in both their own booth and in the Axis Partner Pavilion at the ISC West show. Axis Communications, along with 18 of their partners, will showcase how their products work in combination to help provide an overall security solution. Transition Networks will be presenting their new IP Solutions which leverage existing infrastructure, reducing the cost of upgrading or deploying IP-based security and surveillance networks.

ISC West is the largest security industry trade show in the U.S. At ISC West you will have the chance to meet with technical reps in the security industry and network with over 28,000 security professionals.
