This Amendment No. 1 on Form 8-K/A amends the Current Report on Form 8-K filed on October 10, 2017 (the "Original Filing") by Minerals Technologies Inc. (the "Company"). The Original Filing reported the election of Mr. Franklin (Frank) L. Feder to the Company's Board of Directors (the "Board"). At the time of the Original Filing, the Board had not made any determinations regarding committee assignments for Mr. Feder. The Company hereby amends the Original Filing to include information on committee assignments and related matters in Item 5.02 below. Other than providing the additional information in Item 5.02 below, no other disclosure in the Original Filing is amended by this Form 8-K/A.

Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.

On November 15, 2017, the Board appointed Mr. Feder to the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee of the Board, having determined that Mr. Feder satisfies applicable requirements to serve on such Committees. In addition, the Board determined that Mr. Feder qualifies as an audit committee financial expert for purposes of Item 407 of Regulation S-K promulgated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
