U.S. durable-goods orders rise 1.9% for May

Orders for big-ticket items show a 1.9% increase for May on stronger airplane orders, continuing the data’s recent choppy pattern. The government’s final estimate of first-quarter GDP gets revised slightly higher, to a 1.9% growth rate.
