THE TOILET TISSUE ISSUE

On our very first night in Ecuador at the Casa Sol in Quito, a sign in the bathroom initiated us into toilet paper Ecuador-style. The sign requested that, because Ecuadorian toilets have a hard time with paper, instead of flushing the TP, guests are respectfully requested to throw it into the wastebasket.
